Philippe JAUNET

Chief Executive Officer

Philippe Jaunet boasts an academic background in engineering, topped by a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence. This mathematician at heart is, nonetheless, driven by his deep-rooted philanthropic convictions which have fostered his unique and holistic approach to business.

These principles have helped him shape his very own vision of entrepreneurship, stemming from the desire to help the various countries in which he evolves to develop a solid circular economy. This leitmotiv is what brought Philippe to create around 30 businesses operating in diverse sectors, including being the founder and CEO of a Rs 3 billion-turnover company of 500 employees with 17 sites in France, Dubai and Tunisia.

All these ventures were themselves powered by 25 years of skill and experience gathered while working for globally acclaimed companies. Indeed, Philippe’s acumen for business has helped build technological and digital capabilities for Orange, Ray Ban, Jeep and Disney. He has also worked as a brand reputation consultant for Cartier, SNCF, Sanex and Nestlé, among others.

Pursuing his conviction that giving back is just as important as receiving, Philippe has also financed the construction, renovation and computerisation of 30 schools and hospitals for underprivileged youth in Benin and Togo.

It is quite unsurprising that Mauritius has been the next step on Philippe’s African journey. In 2016, he and associate Ludovic Balloux created Netlab, the promising start of a multi-tiered collaborative platform ensemble. weshare.mu, their first launch, is a successful website dedicated to classified ads. It was soon joined by other specialised websites dedicated to pre-loved items (Molakaz, Cardealerz and Dressme), which prove every day that a collaborative economy is vital.

“There is no “Us” without “U”!”

Ludovic BALLOUX

Chief Operating Officer

Ludovic Balloux champions the growth of Big Data. His background−combining Data Science, Digital Marketing, Business Intelligence, Data Visualisation, Growth Hacking and Cognitive Sciences−is, in his view, a tool to crush rampant social inequalities. He is driven by the goal of channelling his skills to spread awareness and empower those on the receiving end of his work.

Working in various fields, namely helping in the digital transformation of companies operating in health, education, commerce and FMCG, has given him the technical competence which has helped him gain a bird’s eye view of the contribution of his field of expertise to the economy.

Bringing back the human element amidst the ever-evolving digital ecosystem has always been Ludovic’s main ambition, and the driving force behind his work and endeavours. This is why he uses Marketing and Business Development Strategy with a view to share technologies, and to optimise human resources and management.

This socially-committed perspective was the motivating factor behind his partnership with co-founder Philippe Jaunet to create Netlab. Adapting Big Data and the digital ecosystem as tools to better serve and promote a circular economic model has therefore been his very own contribution to the Mauritian adventure, which keeps on growing. The dynamic COO brings a new energy which combines technology and collaboration to the Mauritian e-commerce landscape. With 960,626 unique visitors as at 2020, the co-founders’ bet is a winner.

Netlab has now become a reference in the field of classified ads, which means it is time for the next step: sharing the keys of this success with professionals to help them grow.

“Sharing is caring… and catering for all to grow in this Big Data world.”
